CFL Week 9 DFS Picks 2025

The summer months rage on and the competition in the Canadian Football League continues to heat up on the field. These CFL Week 9 DFS Picks 2025 aim to zero in on some of the key players helping to keep their teams in the hunt for the playoffs.

One of the more expensive stacks this week comes from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and features two of the most explosive players in the league. Going that route will have you bargain hunting to make room for their heavy price tag. With that in mind, we’ve identified a value play that could offer big value to your rosters.

Each week, we’ll give you one of our favorite building blocks from each position to help you assemble a winning DFS roster. You can get in on the action in one of many DraftKings contests.

CFL Week 9 DFS Picks 2025

Quarterback

Bo Levi Mitchell – Hamilton Tiger-Cats, $11,000

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have risen to the top of the East Division with the help of Bo Levi Mitchell and his league-leading 2,201 passing yards and 15 passing touchdowns. The future Hall of Famer has the highest fantasy points per game average in the league (23.6). The Ticats pivot has eclipsed 30 fantasy points in two of his last four contests.

This week, he faces an Edmonton Elks defense that is allowing the second-most passing yards to opposing quarterbacks (319.7). They have surrendered 15 passing touchdowns this year which is the most in the league along with the BC Lions.

Mitchell has played the Elks twice at the helm of the Tiger-Cats offense. In his first encounter, he threw for 316 yards and a career-high five touchdowns. All told, he racked up 610 yards through the air and 7 touchdowns last season in command of the Ticats. Edmonton was able to pick him off twice in their second go around. Mitchell is currently on a hot streak so riding it even at his price is the best play this week.

Running Back

Dedrick Mills – Calgary Stampeders, $8,800

Mills has built a strong 2025 campaign entering this week second in rushing yards (544) and first in rushing touchdowns (7). His 16.43 fantasy points per game average top all running backs this season. The bruising back is the core of the Stamps rushing attack garnering an average of 15 carries pers game. So far, he has managed to reach double digits in all but two of his seven appearances this year.

He draws an Ottawa Reblacks defense this week that has allowed the fourth-most rushing yards per game (100.4) Two weeks ago, Ticats running back Johnny Augustine gained 85 yards on 18 carries against Ottawa. Mills gained 96 yards on 15 carries against the Redblack in Week 3 and added 4 receptions for 27 yards which was good enough for 16.3 fantasy points that day.

The Stamps back has enjoyed several successful outings against Ottawa in his career. Last season, he racked up 15 fantasy points. In 2023, he accounted for 102 yards and a touchdown on the ground en route to 16.2 fantasy points. The year before that, he turned in another 15+ point fantasy game.

Wide Receiver

Jerreth Sterns – Winnipeg Blue Bombers, $4,700

If your plan is to stack your Bo Levi Mitchell play with Kenny Lawler, you will need some salary relief. Hidden towards the bottom of the wide receiver offerings is Jerreth Sterns who has quietly put together two 17-point fantasy games in his last three outings. The former Saskatchewan Roughrider has caught 13 of his 20 targets for 135 yards and two touchdowns in his last three games. Last week, he secured four of his seven targets for 72 yards and a touchdown against the Toronto Argonauts.

That bodes well for us since he will be facing the Argos for a second consecutive week. The Bombers struggled to put up passing yards, but Strens paced the team in targets and yardage while posting Winnipeg’s lone touchdown through the air.

There is still no news as to the availability of quarterback Zach Collaros for this game. However, Sterns should still remain relevant even if Chris Streveler gets the start. Sterns saw all but one of his targets come from the Bombers backup quarterback in the second half of last week’s game.

DST

Toronto Argonauts $4,100

The Argos posted the highest DST score last week, hanging 13 fantasy points against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Toronto’s defense picked off Zach Collaros twice. They also registered a sack and added two fumble recoveries to their total. Overall, the squad has the third-best fantasy points per game average (8.8). Earlier this season, they scorched the Ottawa Redblacks racking up 24 fantasy points in the process.

This week they get to run it back against a banged up Blue Bombers offense. Last week, quarterback Zach Collaros was forced out of the game due to injury. There has been no indication that he will return this week leaving Chris Streveler in line for the start if Collaros has to miss this game.

Toronto’s defense has held the Bombers’ offense in check, holding them to an average of 16.5 points over their last four meetings to include last year’s Grey Cup.
