Miami Grand Prix Underdog Fantasy Picks 2025

The Formula 1 season continues this week with the Miami Grand Prix. This race is set for 57 laps around the Miami International Autodrome. At just over three miles (5.412 km), this course features three DRS zones, and 19 corners. Drivers have raced here since 2022 so these Miami Grand Prix Underdog Fantasy Picks 2025 have very little track history to draw from.

This week’s picks will focus on a couple of drivers who should be fighting for the win when it’s all said and done. One of them has won two of three races ever held on this track. The other has won three of the last four races this season.

To play Underdog Fantasy, all you need to do is choose whether a driver will finish better than or worse than their projected finishing positions. It’s as simple as that. The more selections you make, the higher your multiplier will get, increasing the amount of money you stand to win.

Oscar Piastri Worse Than 1.5

It seems unwise to expect anything less than a win from Oscar Piastri lately and for good reason. The Aussie has stood on the top step of the podium in three of the last four races this year and leads the championship standings. He’s led the most laps in the circuit and has a 1.8 place average finish.

However, this track has not been particularly kind to Piastri. His best finish in his two career appearances on this track is 13th place. In his first start, he rolled off the grid in 19th and finished in the same spot. Last season, he started 6th and ended his day in 13th. He did lead four laps that day, but was unable to stay there.

Piastri picked up the win last week in Jeddah. Although, the race would have played out much differently were it not for Max Verstappen picking up a five second penalty for a violation on the first corner of the race. Expect that to play a part in this week’s race which may not end in Piastri’s favor this time.

Max Verstappen Better Than 3.5

It’s easy to overreact to what has been a less than ideal start for Max Verstappen and his Red Bull team as a whole. However, if you step back, you’ll see that Max is still third in the standings. He’s been on the podium in three of the five races this season. He is tied with Piastri with the second-best average finish this year, and has led the second-most laps. In short, he’s still Max.

If there is any track on which he can put the winning spark back in his season, it’s here in Miami. Max won the first two races in F1 history on this track. Last season, an untimely safety car played a large part in Lando Norris preventing Verstappen from claiming his third Miami win in a row.

The United States seems to agree with Verstappen as he has claimed 10 podium finishes in his 14 career U.S. starts. The reigning champ is still fuming over his penalty from last week which he feels cost him his second win of the season. An angry Max is a dangerous Max and we are sure to see that this week. Even if he doesn’t win, he’ll end his day on the podium.
