Gallagher Premiership Rugby Round 11 Betting Picks
Northampton Saints over Harlequins (+170 via Hard Rock)
The Northampton Saints enter Round 11 on the heels of a 35-34 upset in Round 10 over first-place Bath. The Saints were up 26-12 at the half and would go on to spend the better part of the second half swapping leads before a walk-off penalty goal sent them home with the win.
Northampton is currently in eight place in the standings with five wins and five losses. The Saints have won their last two matches. They have won two of their last three meetings against Harlequins including their Round 3 contest.
On the other side, Harlequins sit one position ahead of Northampton in the standings but are a game behind in the win/loss column. The club has suffered three losses and played to a draw in their last four matches. They are coming off of a 38-14 win over the last-place Newcastle Falcons.
You can also consider taking Northampton +4.5 (-110) here also on Hard Rock. The Saints are averaging 5.1 points per match more than Harlequins this year.
Leicester Tigers +4.5 vs. Gloucester (-110 via BetMGM)
The Leicester Tigers are 7-3 against this particular spread this year. They are in fourth place in standings with six wins, three losses and a draw. The Tigers have the fourth-best point differential in the league. However, that margin is only 21 points with four of their matches being decided by less than five points.
On the contrary, Gloucester has five wins and five losses this season but are 3-7 against a -4.5-point spread. They have had three matches this year decided by five or fewer points.
Leicester has won two out of the last three matches against Gloucester by a total of five points. Hard Rock is giving you +170 for a Tigers outright which you can take here as well hoping they can keep their momentum rolling.
Saracens -2.5 over Exeter Chiefs (-110 via Caesars)
This season, Saracens has won six matches and lost four and are currently in third place in the standings. They are one point behind the Bristol Bears for second place. Saracens have won two of their last three matches including a 35-26 victory in Round 10 against the Bears. They have covered this spread in five of their six wins this season.
Exeter has claimed just one win this year handing Gloucester a 22-15 loss in Round 9. The Chiefs are averaging just 18.6 points per game and own the league’s second-worst point differential (-80). They have been beaten by at least three points in all nine of their losses this season.
Saracens own a 2-1 edge in their head-to-head meetings against the Exeter Chiefs and have won the last two by a total of 33 points.
An outright win for Saracens is as juiced as -160 on BetMGM. Given Exeter’s tendency to lose by three or more points consistently, we’ll take the points a smaller bite out of our profit margin.
Bath -2.5 over Sale Sharks (-110 via BetMGM)
Bath has jumped out to an 8-2 start to the season and are currently on top of the standings. They are the highest scoring team in the league, racking up 36.6 points per match this year. Bath also has the highest points differential as well, outscoring their opponents by 156 total points. They have yet to lose back-to-back matches and are coming off of a 35-34 loss to the Northampton Saints last round.
Sale has been somewhat inconsistent this year and enters this round with six wins and four losses landing them in sixth place in the standings. The Sharks are averaging 26.7 points per match but have only +26 in overall point differential overall. They put together an impressive 38-0 shutout against the Bristol Bears in Round 9, only to lose 36-20 to Gloucester the following round.
Bath has won its last three matches against Sale including a 40-13 Round 6 victory earlier this season.
Bristol Bears -20.5 over Newcastle Falcons (-120 via BetMGM)
This may seem like a shocking amount of points to lay. However, it makes more sense when you take into account the Falcons are averaging just 11.4 points per match so far this season. On the other hand, Bristol is putting up an average of 33.5 points in their matches. Seven of the Falcons eight losses this year have been by at least 20 points including a 24-3 defeat at the hands of these Bears to open the season.
The Bears will be looking to shake off a tough 35-26 loss to Saracens in the last round while Newcastle has lost each of their last three matches including a 61-0 drubbing by the Northampton Saints.
Bath is as high as -3000 on Hard Rock to win this match outright. Picking them to cover the spread will do much more for your pocketbook.
