BetMGM Premier League Darts 2025 Night One Betting Picks

The professional darts world turns its attention to eight of the best players in the world as the BetMGM Premier League Darts 2025 kicks off this Thursday at the SSE Arena Belfast in Northern Ireland.

Players will compete in a 16 week regular season consisting of an eight-person knockout bracket each night. The winner of each round receives five points towards their league standing totals. The second place finisher each night earns three points while the four semi-finalist will get two points.

The top four players after week 16 will move on to the playoffs with the final two competing for the Premier League title.

How to Bet On Darts

There are several ways to get in on the betting action in darts. These include the normal moneyline bets that pick an outright winner. You can also choose to bet against the spread where a player has to win or lose by a set number of legs to cash your ticket.

On top of those, there are individual match props including a player to score a perfect 9-dart finish, which player will have the most 180’s, or even, what the highest checkout will be for a player.

This week, I’ve selected two of the four matches which offer the best opportunity to cash based on the matchup and the odds.

BetMGM Premier League Darts 2025 Night One Betting Picks

Gerwyn Price (-1.5) over Chris Dobey (+115 via DraftKings)
Thursday, February 6th, 11:15 a.m. Pacific

Price enters this event ninth in the World Rankings. Several have questioned his inclusion in the Premier League, however, the Welchman has won 9 of his last 12 matches heading into Thursday’s competition. He has also managed to cover this spread in 7 of those 12 contests.

Dobey has recently fallen outside of the top 10 and currently sits in 11th in the World Rankings. He earned his spot in this elite field after his deep run in the PDC World Championship in which he advanced to the semifinals where he was defeated by Michael van Gerwen. The Englishman has lost all three of his recent matches in January and is 5-4 over his last nine.

Dobey drew last blood in this battle coming away with a 5-3 victory in the PDC World Championships.

Price holds a 12-2 advantage in career head-to-head matches against Dobey dating back to the 2019 season. He has covered this spread in 9 of their 14 meetings as well. I expect the chip on his shoulder will be enough to propel him to a win on Night One.

Rob Cross over Stephen Bunting (+120 via Caesars)
Thursday, February 6th, 11:45 a.m. Pacific

Cross is currently fourth in the World Rankings earning him an automatic bid to the Premier League. The Englishman recently took home his first title in 2025 by winning the Dutch Dart Masters last month. He racked up four impressive wins on his way to the top averaging a 3.25 winning margin in the tournament.

Bunting is one spot behind his night one competitor sitting fifth in the World Rankings. The Bullet has gone 13-3 since the beginning of December of last year. This includes the Englishman winning the Bahrain Masters title last month.

As evenly matched as these two are on paper, the edge goes to their head-to-head record. Bunting has failed to beat Cross in each of their seven previous meetings heading into Thursday. The most recent pairing ended with Cross taking home the hardware with a win over Bunting in the Dutch Masters.

Given his recent success as well as his domination over his night one opponent, getting Cross as the underdog is a great value.
