How to Bet On Darts

There are several ways to get in on the betting action in darts. These include the normal moneyline bets that pick an outright winner. You can also choose to bet against the spread where a player has to win or lose by a set number of legs to cash your ticket.

On top of those, there are individual match props including a player to score a perfect 9-dart finish, which player will have the most 180’s, or even, what the highest checkout will be for a player.

This week, I’ve selected a value bet from all four matches which offer the best opportunity to cash based on the matchup and the odds.

Gerwyn Price -1.5 Over Rob Cross (+100 via DraftKings)

Thursday May 8th, 11:15 a.m. Pacific

Price enters Night 14 third in the overall standings with three nightly wins and 22 points overall. He has won 12 matches in his Premier League season. More importantly, he’s won 108 legs and has a +12 leg differential on the year.

The Iceman has won four of his last five matches. He took home the win on Night 12 and advanced to the Night 13 semi-finals. Three of those four victories have covered this spread.

Cross has yet to notch a nightly win this season. Yet he has accrued 14 points putting him just six points shy of a playoff spot on the table. However, the Englishman has won only seven matches so far this season. Not to mention, he has come away with only 88 legs won and has a -13 leg differential in league play.

Voltage has had a disastrous month and half in which he has lost seven of his last ten Premier League matches. Six of those have been by at least two legs including a 6-2 loss the last time these two met in Night 12.

Luke Littler -1.5 Over Nathan Aspinall Total 180s (+115 vis BET ESPN)

Thursday May 8th, 11:45 a.m. Pacific

Littler has nearly lapped the field in terms of total 180s thrown in the Premier League this season. He stands atop the leaderboard having thrown 141 of them in his 29 matches. The number one player in the standings is averaging 4.86 180s per match this year. The Nuke has thrown more 180s than his opponent in a remarkable 72% of his Premier League matches. The next closest player is Michael Van Gerwen hitting more 180s in 48% of his matches.

Aspinall is second on the list of total 180s in the Premier League. The Asp has thrown 74 180s this season averaging 3.22 per match. However, he has only thrown more 180s than his opponent in 43% of his matches this year.

Littler has thrown more 180s than Aspinall in each of their last four head-to-head matchups. He has covered this spread in all of them, averaging 4 more 180s than The Asp in that span.

Michael van Gerwen vs Luke Humphries Highest Checkout Over 114.5 (-116 via FanDuel)

Thursday May 8th, 12:15 p.m. Pacific

Neither of these players rank near the top of the leaderboard in terms of high checkout average. Humphries slots in with the fifth-best average at 96.81per match while van Gerwen is second to last with an 86.67 checkout average.

However, Humphries has had a checkout of at least 115 in the last two of his Premier League matches against van Gerwen. On top of that, Cool Hand Luke has thrown a 100+ checkout in 20 of his 27 matches this season. He’s also had the highest checkout of the week three times this year which is tied for the most in the Premier League.

Last week, van Gerwen logged the highest checkout of the week with a 130 in the quarter-finals match against Rob Cross. Mighty Mike has thrown 12 checkouts of 100+ in his 23 matches this season.

Chris Dobey Over Stephen Bunting (+100 via DraftKings)

Thursday May 8th, 12:45 p.m. Pacific

This is a battle of the bottom two players on the table. Both have a nightly win to their credit, however neither has accumulated many points to back up their wins. Currently, Dobey holds the slight advantage with 12 points to Bunting’s 8 points. Hollywood also has two more match wins than The Bullet this season.

Dobey has beaten Bunting in their last three head-to-head meetings. In fact, Dobey holds a 6-2 advantage in all eight career matchups between these two.

Bunting has lost his last three Premier League matches and has dropped four of his last six. Dobey has lost two in a row heading into Night 14. However, he has won three of his last five matches all three of which came during his Night 11 win. Fittingly enough, Dobey came away with a 6-2 win over Bunting in the finals match that night.
