How to Bet On Darts

There are several ways to get in on the betting action in darts. These include the normal moneyline bets that pick an outright winner. You can also choose to bet against the spread where a player has to win or lose by a set number of legs to cash your ticket.

On top of those, there are individual match props including a player to score a perfect 9-dart finish, which player will have the most 180’s, or even, what the highest checkout will be for a player.

This week, I’ve selected a value bet from all four matches which offer the best opportunity to cash based on the matchup and the odds.

Stephen Bunting 3 Dart Average 96.5 or more (-125 via DraftKings)
Thursday, May 1st, 11:15 a.m. Pacific

Bunting enters Night 13 with a 3 dart average of 98.16 in Premier League play. The Bullet has topped this mark in six of his last ten matches in the Premier League. He also eclipsed this total in four of his five matches in the European Tour 3 tournament earlier this month. All told, Bunting ended that tournament with a 101.45 3 dart average.

It has been a successful month of April for The Bullet. He is currently 4th in the World Rankings and is 14-4 between the Premier League, the Players Championship, and the European Tour. In that span he took down Gerwyn Price for a Night 9 win, took home the European Tour 3 trophy, and reached the quarter-finals in the Players Championship 10 tournament.

This week, he faces Luke Littler who has allowed his opponent to reach this average in three of his last five matches. This pairing in a rematch of the Night 12 semi-finals which saw Bunting hit a 106.43 3 dart average.

Nathan Aspinall vs Chris Dobey Over 6.5 Total 180s (+100 via FanDuel)
Thursday, May 1st, 11:45 a.m. Pacific

Aspinall and Dobey enter this week with the second and third highest 180 average in the Premier League. Both are averaging 3.2 180s per match. Each has registered the most 180s in two nights this season.

The Asp has hit at least four 180s in each of his last three Premier League matches. Hollywood has collected at least four 180s in three of his last four matches in the league. The last time these two met they combined for ten 180s during their Night 11 semi-finals match. Previous to that, the two tallied nine 180s in their Night 4 quarter-finals battle.

Luke Humphries vs Gerwyn Price Over 9.5 Total Legs (-115 via BetMGM)
Thursday, May 1st, 12:15 a.m. Pacific

There is just something about this matchup that brings out the competitive spirit in these two. They have gone over this total in four of their last five head-to-head matches. This spans all the way back to May of 2024 in a ten leg meeting in the Night 16 quarter-finals of the Premier League. It also includes their last two contests which both took ten legs to decide.

Humprhies has played ten legs in three of his last five Premier League matches. In fact, he has hit the over on this in four of his last six.

Rob Cross vs Michael van Gerwen Highest Checkout Under 112.5 (-115 via DraftKings)
Thursday, May 1st, 12:15 a.m. Pacific

Cross is carrying a highest checkout average of 104.21 into Night 13 this week. He has registered a checkout of at least 113 in just two of his last ten Premier League matches. In 19 matches this season, Voltage has completed a 100+ checkout in 14 of them.

The picture isn’t any prettier for van Gerwen who has posted a highest checkout average of just 83.7 in his 20 matches this season. Mighty Mike has only registered a checkout of at least 113 in one of his last ten Premier League matches this year. He has yet to achieve the highest checkout of the week and has only thrown a checkout of 100+ ten times in league play.
