Lewis Hamilton Better Than 4.5

It seemed as if maybe Lewis Hamilton was not going to enjoy his time at Ferrari after the first two races of the season. The British racing legend barely registered a points finish in Melbourne with his 10th place showing. The following week in China, Hamilton finished in 6th place. Unfortunately was disqualified due to excessive plank wear landing him 19th officially.

However, his luck took a turn for the better as he’s finished inside of the points in every race since his DQ at Shanghai. He’s averaged a finish of 6.2 since then and has finished in 4th place in each of his last two races. His efforts have been helped along by his 4.8 average starting position over the last grand prix.

Spa has been kind to Hamilton over the course of his career. In 18 starts on this track, the seven-time champ has 11 podium finishes and five wins. He came in second here last year, but was given the victory after his Mercedes teammate Geroge Russell was disqualified.

George Russell Better Than 5.5

While it’s been a season-long struggle between Max Verstappen and McLaren, hanging just outside it George Russell and his Mercedes. The British driver has an average finish of 4.9 this season and is currently in fourth place in the points standings.

He’s stood on the podium five times this year. He occupied the top step at the Canadian Grand Prix last month. A strategy call two weeks ago cost him a shot at his third-straight top 5 finish at his home track in Silverstone. Russell has finished 5th place or better in 9 of 12 races this year.

Last season, Russell crossed the finish line at Spa in first place. Unfortunately, he was overweight when he did so which cost him the win. That penalty cost him his third finish of 4th place or better in four starts.
