Round 21 of Aussie Rules Football (AFL) is here! We’ve been on hiatus in picks as life got busy. However, we’re back! Previously, through round 13, our season record is now 27-25. Let’s get back into the winning! Here are my favorite Aussie Rules Football Round 21 picks!
If you’re wondering if you need an offshore book to bet on Aussie Rules Football, you don’t! You can get lines right at DraftKings and FanDuel. This isn’t rugby for those unfamiliar with the odd-shaped football, bigger-sized football, lack of pads, and massive field. For a complete breakdown of Aussie Rules football, check out this page.

Aussie Rules Football Round 21 Best Bets, Picks, and Predictions
West Coast vs. Melbourne Demons – Demons Set for Victory
Tonight’s game sees West Coast (1-18) taking on Melbourne (6-13), and it’s clear which team has the advantage. The Demons are a much better team than West Coast, despite both teams struggling. They have a strong midfield led by Clayton Oliver and Jack Viney. They are likely to expose West Coast’s struggles, especially as the Eagles are ranked towards the bottom in clearances.
West Coast’s 2025 season has been one to forget, particularly when it comes to scoring. Melbourne, on the other hand, is firing on all cylinders and will likely take advantage of West Coast’s defensive vulnerabilities.
This game might not mean anything as far as the standings go or for playoff implications. However, Melbourne will want to finish strong. Luckily, they go against a team that they are capable of easily beating. Watch out for this one to be a route in our AFL Round 21 picks.
AFL Round 21 picks for this match: Melbourne (-45.5)
Essendon Bombers vs. Sydney Swans (-41.5 on DraftKings) – Can Swans Edge Out Bombers
This game is much more important for the Sydney Swans than it is for the Essendon Bombers. Sydney currently sits 10th in the league, just outside the Top 8. Statistically, they could still claw their way in. Essendon, on the other hand, sits at 15th in the league. They are 6-12 and have struggled all season.
However, you have to look back to the last time these two played in May. Essendon defeated Sydney 71-63. All season, Sydney seems to be better as a dog and has trouble winning as a favorite. Will they have the same problem this weekend? Sydney’s well-balanced in-field could give Essendon some trouble.
However, being 44.5-point favorites against a team that already beat you this year is a little egregious. Especially for a team that doesn’t seem to cover many games as favorites.
AFL Round 21 picks for this match: Essendon (+44.5 on ESPNBet)
Brisbane Lions (+10.5 on DraftKings) vs. Collingwood Magpies – Potential Championship Match
The matchup of the weekend sees Brisbane and Collingwood face off. Collingwood, the number two team, is currently 15-4 and on the tail of the number one spot that Adelaide holds. Brisbane, on the other hand, is 13-5 in the number three spot. They technically could still climb their way to number one as well. This is the best game on the AFL Round 21 picks.
These are two of the best teams in the league and should end up being a great game. The last time these two played, Collingwood embarrassed Brisbane 105-53. I expect the Lions to remember that and have revenge on their minds.
Collingwood has had some efficiency issues the past few weeks. They have lost two of their last three games. That includes games to Gold Coast and Fremantle. On the other hand, Brisbane is a strong team, but ranks dead last in goals conceded.
Brisbane has been vulnerable. However, this is an important game for a very well-coached team. They’ve been historically good, and they’ll want to remind people that they are still here as one of the top teams in the league.
AFL Round 21 picks for this match: Brisbane +10.5
North Melbourne vs. St. Kilda Saints (-24.5 on FanDuel) – Can Saints Ride Last Week’s Energy?
Our last matchup for our AFL Round 21 picks also contains two struggling teams that don’t have much shot at the Top 8. St. Kilda is much like Sydney. We love to back them as dogs, but we are hesitant when they’re the favorites. Their 6-13 record has been a disappointing one to say the least.
However, now they face off against a 4-14 North Melbourne team that has struggled to keep up with most teams. While a lot of teams have already played each other and are hitting their second time playing a team, these two have yet to face off in 2025.
In fact, you have to flip back all the way to May 4th, 2024, for the last time they played. St. Kilda won that game 103-65. St. Kilda is coming off a come-from-behind victory over Melbourne last week and it should have them entering the game confidently.
North Melbourne, on the other hand, has lost five in a row and can’t have much confidence at all. Nick Larkey should return from injury to give them a boost. However, they’ll still be without Tristan Xerri.
AFL Round 21 picks for this match: St. Kilda (-24.5)
