Only one point separates the Warriors (309) from the Panthers (308) in the all important point differential tiebreaker. This puts an emphasis on not only winning, but putting up a sizable point total on the board in doing so. Luckily, they have a red hot tryscorer to help in that cause.

The Warriors lost their leading tryscorer, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, last week to a collarbone injury. The winger still has the sixth-most tries (20) in the league. New Zealand has not missed a beat though, scoring 46 points last week against the Knights. In that match, Jacob Laban put the first try on the board for the Warriors.
That try was one of five Laban has scored over his last five matches. He ended last week’s match with a double and has registered at least one try in three straight.
Canberra Raiders Over North Queensland Cowboys (+160 via theScore)
North Queensland holds the eighth spot in the finals round, perched four points above the Sea Eagles with one match left. The Cowboys are currently tied with the Rabbitohs with 32 points. They are only two points behind the Sharks and the Knights who are in 5th and 6th place with 34 points. A win and any combination of losses ahead of them would improve their position in the knockout round. NQ has won three of its last five matches, although they came against teams far below the finals cut line. The Cowboys most recent test against a winning club ended in the Roosters breaking the all-time record for most points scored in a match in an 82-12 thumping.

Canberra is playing for pride as it closes out the 2026 NRL season. The Raiders are limping into this round having lost three of their last four matches. However, they are not completely dead in the water. Canberra came away with a spirited 24-20 victory of the 5th place Sharks two matches ago. This week is a chance to beat another side in the top 8 of the ladder.
These clubs met last in Round 13 at the end of May. The Raiders managed to get the best of the Cowboys in a 26-12 contest. That win snapped an eight-match winning streak in the series by NQ going back to the 2021 season.
Penrith Panthers vs. Wests Tigers: Panthers Under 33.5 Points (-105 via DraftKings)
Penrith is battling for the top spot on the ladder. This week’s match will determine if the Panthers will win the minor premiership, or if the Warriors will hold that title. The first step for Penrith is to win its Round 27 match. On top of that, the Panthers will have to outscore their opponents by two more points than the Warriors to claim the points differential tiebreaker. Lucky for Penrith, they play the last match of the week, so it will know exactly what they need to do come gametime.

The only problem is, points have not been flowing like a fountain recently for Penrith. The Panthers haven’t topped 28 points in each of their last four matches. In fact, they have averaged only 16 points per match in that span.
This is not the week to have a struggling offense. The Panthers will face a Tigers defense that has held opponents under 24 points for four consecutive games. In fact, Wests has allowed its opponent to score exactly 24 points in each of its last three.
