National Rugby League Round 22 Betting Picks 2025

Melbourne Storm vs. Parramatta Eels: Ryan Papenhuyzen Anytime Try Scorer (-125 via DraftKings)

Melbourne leads the NRL in points scored (567) this season. The Storm also lead the league in total tires (97). Winger Xavier Coates leads Melbourne with 13 tries on the year and is fifth in the league in that category. Ryan Papenhuyzen is right behind him with 12 tries this season. He is tied with six other players for the sixth most tries in the league.

The explosive fullback busted out of the gates scoring a try in eight of his first nine matches. He cooled off, suffering a five match streak in which he failed to score a try. However, that did not keep him off of the scoreboard as he accounted for 45 points in goals.

Papenhuyzen scored two tries in his Round 1 matchup against the Eels. He’s scored at least one try in six of his nine career matches against Parramatta. Keep an eye on his availability as he is attempting to return from a recent calf injury which has kept him sidelined since Round 17.

Dolphins vs. New Zealand Warriors: Dolphins Over 23.5 Team Total Points (-120 via DraftKings)

The Dolphins have scored the third-most points in the league (533) this season. They have scored at least 24 points in ten of their matches this year. On top of that, they have exceeded this prop total in five of their last seven matches heading into this round. So far, the Dolphins are averaging 29 points per match.

Reaching this total will not be an easy task as the Dolphins are facing one of the toughest defenses in the league. The Warriors are allowing only 20 points per match this season. Although, New Zealand has surrendered 24 or more points eight times. Last week, the Titans, who are in the bottom five in the ladder in total points, managed to score 24 points against the Warriors.

Neither of these teams reached this total in their Round 11 matchup. However, both exceeded this mark in their previous meeting last season.

St George/Illawarra Dragons +7.5 vs. Canberra Raiders (+100 via Hard Rock)

The Dragons enter this round scoring an average of 22 points per match. On the other hand, they are only surrendering 26 points per game. St George/Illawarra has covered this spread in 14 of their 18 matches this season including each of their last five.

Canberra has scored an average of 28 points per match this year. They are giving up an average of 20 points defensively. While this puts them just ahead of this prop total, they have failed to win by at least eight points in eight matches.

The Raiders walked away with the win when these teams last met earlier this month. However, Canberra was only able to gap the Dragons by four points in that match. Last season, the winning margin was only two points for the Raiders. This prop has hit in five of the last six matches between these two.

North Queensland Cowboys vs. Cronulla Sharks: Jaxon Purdue Anytime Try Scorer (+210 via DraftKings)

Purdue has scored at least one try in 9 of his 19 matches this season. The Cowboys’ halfback scored a try in six of his first eight matches. He’s slowed down since, but has picked up some steam as of late registering two tries in his last four matches. He accounted for one of the two tries North Queensland managed to score the last time these teams met in Round 2.

The Cowboys will be without their leading tryscorer Murray Taulagi who is out for some time with a hamstring injury. Expect Purdue to pick up the slack in that department. Getting him at just over 2 to 1 to get it done is a great value.
