Aussie Rules Football Round 4 Best Bets, Picks and Predictions

Melbourne @ Geelong Cats (-29.5 @ DraftKings)

Friday, 4/4/25 at 3:40 AM ET (12:40 AM Pacific)

The first Aussie football Round 4 picks game to look at is the Geelong Cats at the Melbourne Football Club. Geelong had an opening win back on March 14th against Fremantle, 147-69. Since then, they’ve dropped two straight, both at home. They lost to St. Kilda 98-91 and Brisbane 70-61.

Melbourne, on the other hand, is looking for their first win. They dropped their opener on the road against the GWS Giants 77-74. Then they lost at home to North Melbourne, 125-66. Last week they were on the road again and lost 120-62 to Gold Coast.

The biggest story for Geelong is the return of Tom Stewart. He should be able to provide them a big boost. He had 408 kicks and 507 disposals in 2023 and was the AFL’s premiership player in 2022 as well as the McClelland Trophy that year.

Both sides desperately need a win to keep the season relevant. Perhaps the Cats have more to prove, however, given that the expectations were higher for them. Although a loss here may signify an end for this era of Melbourne. I think with how competitive Geelong has been playing and the return of Tom Stewart gives them a significant advantage. In fact, I’m hoping it gives them a 30-point advantage.

Adelaide Crows @ Gold Coast Suns (-6.5 @ FanDuel)

Friday, 4/4/25 at 10:20 PM ET (7:15 PM Pacific)

Next up on our list of Aussie Football Round 4 picks is the Adelaide Crows against the Gold Coast Suns. Both teams are undefeated. Gold Coast is currently sitting at 2-0 after beating West Coast 136-49 and Melbourne 120-62.

Adelaide, also undefeated, is sitting at 3-0. They took care of St. Kilda 135-72, Essendon 161-100, and North Melbourne 114-78. Adelaide is averaging the most kicks per game and the second most disposals per game. They’ve also had the most total goals and average goals.

The only injury that may affect this game is the Crows’ Josh Rachele. He’s currently dealing with a rib injury. It’ll be a tough matchup for the Crows as the Suns’ stars Noah Anderson, Matt Rowell, and Ben King are on fire.

This is going to be the game of the weekend. Both of these teams have played very well and are two of the best teams in the league so far. Whoever wins will be considered Top Four, and they’ve both been lucky to avoid any major injuries. This is a hard one to pick, but I’m riding with the road dogs.

St. Kilda @ Port Adelaide (-12.5 @ DraftKings)

Sunday, 4/6/25 at 1:20 AM ET (Saturday 10:20 PM Pacific)

The next game on our Australian Football Round 4 picks list is St. Kilda @ Port Adelaide. Port Adelaide started the season on a terrible note, losing 136-45 to Collingwood. Then they got the best of Richmond, 140-68. Last week they lost to Essendon 72-60.

St. Kilda started the season slow as well, losing to Adelaide 135-72. However, they’ve bounced back, winning the last two games. They beat Geelong 98-91 and then Richmond 135-53. The big win last week should help continue to fuel their confidence, as it was the highest score they’ve had in over a decade.

Port Adelaide could get Lachie Jones back from injury. However, they are still without Zak Butters, Todd Marshall, Ryan Burton, and Brandon Zerk-Thatcher. St. Kilda is also dealing with plenty of injuries. However, their captain, Jack Steele, should be able to return this week.

St. Kilda moves the ball very quickly and I’m not sure Port Adelaide can keep up with it. Even if they do, St. Kilda should be able to cover. They’ve struggled playing in Adelaide Oval, but I think this team will be fired up and focused.

Western Bulldogs @ Fremantle Dockers (-7.5 @ FanDuel)

Sunday, 4/6/25 at 3:10 AM ET (12:10 AM Pacific)

The last game on our Aussie Football Round 4 picks is the Fremantle Dockers against the Western Bulldogs. Fremantle finally notched their first win last week, defeating West Coast 106-68. Prior to that, they had dropped their opener against Geelong, 147-69, and then to Sydney, 68-65.

The Bulldogs are coming off a victory over Carlton, 83-75. They also won their opener against North Melbourne, 113-97, and lost Round 2 to Collingwood, 76-70. Fremantle is hoping they are able to extend their record to 2-2, while the Bulldogs are hoping for a 3-1 start.

Fremantle starting 0-2 was a bit of a surprise to everyone. Now that they’ve gotten their first win of 2025, it will be interesting to see if they can build off of that. It won’t be easy, however, as the Bulldogs have shown that they won’t roll over against anybody.

Last week they were down four goals against Carlton. It seemed a result of the injuries they have, missing Marcus Bontempelli, Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, Adam Treloar, and Luke Beveridge. However, it is going to be hard to continue to succeed with those injuries week after week.

This game feels like it will be close to start with, but I think Fremantle hit stride last week and will keep that stride. The Bulldogs’ luck runs out, and the Dockers extend to 2-2.

Aussie Rules Football Round 4 picks for this match: Fremantle Dockers -7.5.
