It’s possible you’ve never watched a rugby match in your life. While I’d say you’re missing out, I realize it’s not for everybody and is some times hard to find on your local stations. However, if you get the chance, rugby is a tough, physical sport that you should definitely check out. While you’re checking it out though, you might as well bet it! Let’s take a look at the France Top 14 Rugby bets.
Each year different teams make the France Top 14 for rugby. Therefore, it’s hard to look at carryover records and how a team did specifically last year. We can look at how the teams have been performing, however. Let’s take a closer look at three teams I think you should sprinkle some money on.
France Top 14 Rugby Bets
Toulouse (-155)
The favored team to win in the France Top 14 Rugby Bets is the Toulouse Rugby team. When you look at their point differential, it’s easy to see why Toulouse is favored. They have an incredible +123 point differential. That’s 28 more points than the next closest. They have won 6 out of 9 matches this year so far.
Their star player Thomas Ramos has 109 scores and 22 conversions. While he’s playing at this level, it will be hard for any team to beat them. They face off against Perpignan first, one of the worst teams in the Top 14 (+25000 odds to win). They’ve also only conceded 145 goals. That’s 49 less than the next closest team.
Toulouse is the favorite, and you have to pay the juice. However, keep in mind the saying from Cody Zeeb and Rod Villagomez, you only pay the juice if you lose.
Toulouse is a powerhouse team and while they could slip up in a game and lose like they have three times this year, they’ll likely be focused and ready to dominate.
Bordeaux-Begles (+500)
The next team I’m taking a step at for the France Top 14 Rugby bets is the Bordeaux-Begles Rugby club. While Toulouse is the favorite and has the highest point differential, Bordeaux has scored the most goals this year with 304. That’s 36 more points than Toulouse has scored this year. They also had an impressive 95 point differential.
Bordeaux may not have had as hard of a schedule, yet they have won six of their nine matchups. Their next matchup is against Vannes, who have the worst odds in the entire France Top 14. While their top scorer, Matthieu Jalibert didn’t score as many goals as Ramos, he still finished with 69 and 18 conversions. The rest of their team contributed more evenly than Toulouse, and a good team game could be what helps them win.
They are the third favorite at +500, however, they have the weapons to pull off an upset and end up winning it all. They have easier matchups coming up and could start building a strong case for being considered a favorite.
Bayonne (+15000)
I wanted to grab a long shot to throw in for our top France Top 14 Rugby bets. Look no further than Bayonne at +15000. Is it too long of a shot? Maybe. However, they are the only other team that has also won six of nine games so far. That includes winning four straight, and coming off a hard defensive battle win over the favorites, Toulouse.
Just beating Toulouse 12-8 gives them the confidence they may need to make a run and finish as a top team. While their top scorer is Camile Lopez with 57, Joris Segonds and Sereli Maqala have both scored over 40 points, higher than the second players on both Toulouse and Bordeaux-Begles that I mentioned prior.
Bayonne also still has a positive point differential at 24, which is third best. Sprinkling a little on Bayonne is riding the hot-hand with their four wins in a row, however, this team could be peaking at just the right time and ready for a run.
