Sonsio Grand Prix Betting Picks 2025

The NTT IndyCar tour arrives in Indianapolis for the fifth race of the season on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course. The race is set for 85 laps around the 2.439-mile road course for 207.32 miles. These Sonsio Grand Prix Betting Picks 2025 give you a couple of drivers to watch for this Saturday.

Alex Plaou is the defending race winner here and will also start on the pole. As you can expect, he is a heavy favorite and is -200 to win across most books. The Spaniard has won three of the four races this season and has won two of the last three races on this track.

While all of that is impressive, anything can and will happen in motorsports and the runaway favorite does not always win. With that in mind, we will turn our attention to a pair of contenders that have a reasonable shot at knocking out the current points leader.

Green flag drops on this race at 1:30 p.m. Pacific and you can watch it live on FOX.

Will Power (+1200 via BetMGM)

Power has taken home the checkered flag five times in his career on this track. That is the most among all active drivers. The Aussie has 12 top 10 finishes in 16 career starts on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course. He has stood on the podium eight times in that span. In fact, four of his last six races here have resulted in a top 3 finish. Power was the runner up in last season’s races around the IMS Road Course.

He will roll off the grid from the seventh spot this Saturday afternoon. The driver of the No. 12 Penske Chevrolet has three straight top 10 finishes with back-to-back fifth place outings over the last two weeks.

You can find Power as short as +1000 on DraftKings. He is certainly one of the drivers that can give Palou a run for his money and is worth some speculation.

Christian Lundgaard (+2500 via BetMGM)

Lundgaard has shown a healthy amount of speed in his new Arrow McLaren ride this season. The Danish driver has been on the podium in three of the four races this season. Last week, he finished runner-up to Alex Palou in Birmingham, albeit 16 seconds behind the race winner. The pilot of the Velo Chevrolet has been among the frontrunners this year, leading in two races for 49 laps.

His success on this track is not indicative of where his odds rank in the books. Lundgaard has started on the front row in each of the last three races on the IMS Road Course. His average finish slips a couple spots to 5.7, however, he’s been a top 4 driver in each of his last four outings here. Also worth consideration, he’s accomplished all of that in Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing equipment. Last season, he led 35 laps in this race which was only four less than race winner Alex Palou. All told, he’s led 57 in his six career starts on the Indy Road Course.

Caesars is offering Lundgaard at +1600 and DraftKings has him at +2000 to win. The extra value you get from BetMGM makes him an intriguing play this week.
