Vegas Falcons +1.5 vs Miami Heretics (+120 via DraftKings)

Friday, May 9th, 12:00 p.m. Pacific

Miami Heretics enter this weekend 2-0 after the first qualifier weekend. They were able to put away both of the Los Angeles teams last week earning them a spot in the top 3 in the standings. However, both the Guerrillas M8 and the Thieves made Miami work for the win forcing a game five in their matches. The Heretics are 15-18 and sixth place overall in the regular season standings having won just under 48% of their games this year.

The Vegas Falcons picked up just their second match win of the season last week beating Minnesota RØKKR in a 3-2 thriller last Saturday. It was the first time the Falcons had won a game since the final week of the Stage 3 qualifiers. It’s highly unlikely Vegas can come away with a win in this match. However, they can hope to catch a similar spark as the Guerrillas M8 who have only won four matches this year but took the Heretics the distance in their meeting last week.

These teams last met in the late rounds of the Stage 3 qualifiers in early April. After falling behind 2-1 early, Vegas forced a fifth game and ultimately lost 3-2 to Miami.

Boston Breach over OpTic Texas (+140 via DraftKings)

Friday, May 9th, 12:30 p.m. Pacific

Boston Breach took one on the chin last week getting swept by the Carolina Royal Ravens. It was their third loss in a row going back to the Stage 3 Major tournament. Their designation as underdogs in this match can be justified. However, before their losing streak, Boston had won four matches in a row. The last of which was a 3-0 shutout against OpTic Texas.

OpTic Texas comes into this weekend riding the high of a 3-0 win over Vancouver Surge. It was Shotzzy that led the charge for OpTic snagging a match high 77 kills and a 1.33 K/D ratio in the process. They certainly needed the boost having lost five of their previous six matches prior to that. In those losses, they managed to win just three total games. The lone bright spot came by way of a 3-0 win against the struggling Vegas Falcons.

DraftKings is offering OpTic at -190 to win outright and have Boston +1.5 set at -170. On top of that, the total is set at 3.5 games. The Over is priced at -225 and the under at +170. The real value here is to take the Breach outright expecting them to get their mojo back from a couple of weeks ago.
